As the season brings fresh dill to our tables, there’s no better way to celebrate its delicate flavour than with a refreshing Dill and Yogurt Dip. This versatile dip is perfect with crackers or as a delightful Indian Raita.

Ready in under 5 minutes, it’s incredibly versatile and perfect for:
- dipping your favourite crackers, thepla nachos, or vegetable crudités
- serving as a refreshing raita with Indian meals,
- a sauce with Buddha bowls or
- even spreading on toast for a flavourful snack.
Winter in Udaipur brings with it a bounty of fresh herbs, and dill (called suva in Hindi) is one of my favourite herbs to cook with, these days. This simple herb adds a fresh anise-like flavour to all, be it a simple suva moong daal, salads, stuffed paranthas, dips, or cutlets.
Recently, we hosted a harvest festival on the farm, and this dill and yogurt dip was a star attraction. Alongside other farm-to-table dips like green tomato chutney, beetroot dip, ketchup, and coriander chutney, we served it with khakras and garlic crostinis. All the other dips were prepared earlier except this one. I made this right on the farm with dill harvested in front of all the participants, making it an extra special experience.
