I was just reading the recipe for super quick dry fruit laddoos in my diary when my sister said “I feel like eating something interesting”
I replied “How about laddoos?”
Didi: “I want to eat something interesting right NOW! Not after 3 hours”
Me: “I will make awesome dry fruit laddoos in 5 mins!”
I had learnt them in Ahmedabad. During a recent get-together, a friend of mine had made these and by the time I reached all I got was raving reviews of how tasty the dry fruit laddoos were. I did write the recipe down in my travelling journal. I made them and she was totally amazed by the taste and the ease of making these little balls filled with dry fruits. She has a 6 year old who refuses to eat any nuts and we figured we can bind them in shape of toffees and it was just so easy then! One dry fruit toffee a day for all the daily nuts requirements.
Dry Fruit Laddoos (Dry Fruit sweet balls)
By Ashima Goyal Siraj
Preparation time: |Cooking time: |Serves: Makes 6 laddoos
¼ cup almonds
¼ cup cashews
½ cup raisins
20 gms milk chocolate (I used 4 pieces of regular Cadbury Dairy milk chocolate)
- Grind together all the ingredients in a mixer
- Divide into 6 portions (or more if you want smaller laddoos)
- Bind each into a ball and your dry fruit laddoos are ready! J If it’s not binding well then you can add a little more raisins.
- The raisins act as both the binding agent as well as the natural sweetening agent. So have them without taking the guilt trip of having too much sweets 🙂
