No matter the season, there’s nothing as refreshing as a glass of homemade lemonade. Today, I’m sharing a recipe for a simple yet incredibly flavorful lemonade made with fresh mint and lemons plucked straight from my garden.
This mint lemonade is one of my go-to welcome drinks whenever someone is visiting the farm as the joy of plucking mint and lemons right in front of the guests and having them savour the freshness of the smells in their hands and taste in their mouth is beyond any words to explain the importance of eating farm-to-table as much as possible.
Home gardening has become an increasingly popular hobby, offering numerous benefits beyond fresh produce. It’s a wonderful way to connect with nature, reduce your carbon footprint, and enjoy the satisfaction of growing your food. Mint is one of the easiest herbs to cultivate, even for beginners. With its vibrant green leaves and refreshing aroma, it’s a versatile addition to any garden.
So, why not give home gardening a try? And while you’re at it, enjoy this refreshing mint lemonade made with the fruits of your labour!
This recipe is so easy that even kids can make it without any help. During GROW Camp’s Farm to Table day, the children name it fancy “mint mojito” – they say!
With kids, you might want to replace honey with sugar :p. On this particular day at the GROW Camp, we had multiple iterations of lemon and sugar, then more lemon, then more sugar, then more lemon.. ultimately we made 2 jars of lemonade and finished it all up after the day’s work on the farm!
