A fruit bowl is an anytime-anywhere snack! Packed with lots of energy it ensures a great start to the day!
I always knew pomegranates are powerhouse of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. But the effort to peel and remove the seeds always limited the presence of pomegranates in my kitchen. It would appear not more than once a month when I would convince myself to make the effort. I recently saw this amazingly easy way to de-seed a pomegranate and ever since we have a fruit bowl for breakfast every other day. I usually combine them with a soft and sweet fruit such as mango, orange, kiwis (not a favourite amongst my family) or melons. This is not a season for berries but they also go good in the salad. Make it as colourful as possible and you get a bowl full of health. Serve it chilled in morning or evening to get refreshed! Also makes a great dessert for the health conscious 🙂
De-seeding a Pomegranate in 1-2-3
- Cut into two halves
- Beat it lightly with the back of a spoon or a rolling pin and watch the seeds come tumbling down!
- you may some still stuck too far inside which you can simply remove by hand.
Combine the juicy red seeds with fruits of your choice! If having as breakfast, you can also add nuts like almonds and walnuts to give your day an extra boost!
